Graduate Success Continues at Percepta

Graduate Intern ProgrammeAfter a successful trial of a new graduate intern programme in early 2011, focusing on business intelligence and analytics, Percepta is delighted to continue with the project by offering two more placements at our regional corporate office.

In partnership with the Centre for Scottish Public Policy’s (CSPP) “Adopt an Intern” scheme, two new marketing graduates have been given the opportunity to work with Percepta’s UK and European teams, focusing on creative design, digital, market intelligence, research, and analytics.

Alan Bates, Marketing Manager for Percepta, said, “We have seen a real success from our first small graduate intake, where the new members of our team delivered some really high-quality work and were involved in the development of a brand new service. Percepta sees this as an opportunity to bring some fresh ideas to our organisation from those who have not been influenced by years of exposure to the industry, but also as a way of giving valuable experience and insight to the graduates we bring on board. The jobs market is particularly difficult for many graduates at the moment, so I am delighted about an opportunity to bring two excellent new team members into my group.”

Each placement is originally agreed for 12 weeks, with graduates receiving a monthly salary for either full-time or part-time roles. The work involves getting to know the business and doing real tasks and projects that Percepta wants to implement. The intention is that interns have something to take away and can demonstrate the impact and success of their work in future. On some occasions, there is also an opportunity to extend the placement, or even to become a permanent member of the Percepta team.

Speaking about the programme, Lindsay Morrison, one of the latest graduates to join Percepta said, “Applying through “Adopt an Intern” was quick and simple, and I was able to discuss my application strengths with them. When they put me in touch with Percepta, I was full of confidence about what I could bring to the internship.”

Joy Lewis, Programme Manager for the Centre for Scottish Public Policy’s “Adopt an Intern” Programme, added, “With the ongoing economic challenges, it is now more difficult than ever for talented graduates in Scotland to find suitable paid work opportunities that give them much needed experience at the start of their working life. We are delighted to have worked so successfully with Percepta and to have given four graduates such a great boost to their future careers.”
